LIONS ADD TWO OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS TO ROSTER

Head Coach Adam Rita today confirmed the signing of linebackers; Rafael Robinson and Picasso Nelson.

Robinson will join the BC Lions Practice Roster while Nelson will dress for the Lion's game against Hamilton on Thursday.

Rafael is a versatile player that played for four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks before signing as a free agent with the Tennessee Oilers on March 26, 1996. In his first season with the Oilers, Robinson recorded two of seven career starts and a total of 70 NFL games played. His career stats include 1.5 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries, 4 forced fumbles and 2 interceptions. He played three games in 1997 for the Oilers.

Robinson spends his off season in Dallas working on a Masters Degree at SMU.

Picasso Nelson signed as a free agent with the Argonauts in May of 1998. A former All-American safety at Jackson State University, he anchored the defense from 92-95. He was named the Southwest Athletic Conference defensive player of the year in 1995 when he led the NCAA in interceptions with eight and was named to both the Senior and Hula Bowl squads. After college Picasso signed as a free agent with the Houston Oilers in 1996 but was waived during the pre-season. He then signed with the New York Giants in March of 1997 but was again released before their regular season.

In the off season, Nelson lives in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and has a son, Picasso Nelson II.
