DAVE EASLEY
Defensive Secondary Coach


Dave is going into his 6th year as an assistant coach with the Lions in 1998. In 1993 he returned to the Lions under Head Coach Dave Ritchie as Defensive Line Coach. In '94 and '95 Dave coached the Linebackers as well as special teams, earning his second Grey Cup Championship Ring in '94. In 1996 he coached the Defensive Back & Special teams and was Defensive Coordinator in '97. Prior to joining the Lions, Dave's coaching experience included being Defensive Coach for the UBC Thunderbirds '83-87 and '89-90 (Defensive Backs/ Linebackers), including the Vanier Cup Champion- ship in 1986. Dave joined the professional coaching ranks under Adam Rita in Toronto for the 1991 and 1992 seasons as the Argos' Linebacker Coach. During that time, he earned his first Grey Cup ring. He gained CFL coaching experience as a guest coach with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in '84 and with the Lions in 1985 and 1986. He also spent time as Head Coach of the Adelaide Eagles in Australia in 1987-88. Dave started coaching junior football and led the Vancouver Trojans to the National Championship in 1982. Dave began his CFL playing career as a defensive back with the Lions in 1969, and that season won the CFL's Rookie of the Year Award. He grew up as a Lions fan and prior to turning pro with the Lions, played junior football for the Vancouver Jr. Blue Bombers. After four seasons with the Lions, Dave played with Hamilton from 1973 to 1976 and concluded his playing career with the Edmonton Eskimos in 1976.
