JIM SANDUSKY
Receivers Coach


The Lions welcomed a friend back to BC when head Coach Adam Rita named Jim Sandusky as the team's Receiver Coach in 1997, Sandusky started his playing career with the Lions in 1984 and was a vital part of the 1985 Grey Cup Championship team. He was traded to Edmonton prior to the start of the 1988 season for Matt Dunigan. Jim concluded his playing career after the 1995 season and returned to the Eskimos in 1996 as a special teams coach but injuries to the Eskimo receiving corps forced him back to the field for the last six games of the season. He also saw action in the 1996 Grey Cup game vs Toronto. During his 11 year CFL career, Sandusky caught 551 passes for 9,269 yards and 67 touchdowns. Five times he went over the 1,000 yard mark for receiving in a season (1985, 87 - BC Lions and 1988, 91, 92 - Edmonton). A three time Western All-Star (1987, 91, 92) and two time All-Canadian (1987, 92), Jim has totalled 10,877 all-purpose yards in his career including 1,298 yards on 134 punt returns. Jim signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 1989, and stayed there before rejoining the Eskimos as a free agent in 1991. Jim attended San Diego State University, UNLV, and Walla Walla Community College. Jim led the Nation in receiving yards and punt return average in Division 1 football while at San Diego State and UNLV. He is also the only player to be named All American at three different Colleges. Born September 1, 1961 in Othello, Washington. Jim and his wife Tami, have two children Rocki and Natasha
